At some point I sat down and properly worked out what working more hours would actually cost me. Yes, technically it would bring in more money. But it would also mean more childcare, more rushing, more exhaustion, more of the feeling that life was one giant logistics operation I was barely keeping on top of. More of the thing I was already doing too much of. The problem with that solution is that it solves one pressure by making every other part of life harder. What I actually needed wasn't more hours. It was a completely different kind of option, one that could fit around a life that was already full rather than requiring me to blow it up and rebuild it. I know how that sounds, because I thought the same thing. There's no way something like that genuinely exists. And even if it does, I don't have the headspace to figure it out right now. What changed my thinking was understanding that I didn't have to build something from scratch. The business I run operates within a system that was already fully set up, the structure, the training, the tools, the support. I didn't need a business idea or a big following or hours of free time to get started. I just needed to be willing to learn and show up consistently. The women I've seen build something real with this aren't productivity machines with perfect morning routines.
