You can be highly functional and still be operating from freeze. You can lead, create, care for others, run a business, hold space, and do everything life requires of you, while some part of your nervous system remains braced against the very life you are trying to create. This is why functional freeze can be difficult to recognize. It doesn’t always look like doing nothing.
