🌙 SHIVA: MOST AUSPICIOUS ONE Less than 7 days to Maha Shivaratri, the Great Night of Shiva... This year, I will not able to offer any teachings or meditations on the day as we are in the midst of concluding our 40-day Ganesha Sadhana. So I spent the last few days reflecting upon some of my favorite Shiva temples which have profoundly shaped my path today… The elusive Dandeshwar temple in the mountains of Uttarakhand… the powerful Pashupatinath in Nepal; also one that is close to my heart, Mahadeva’s Cave at Halesi. And how about the midnight dharshan at Kashi Vishwanath with my Teachers… And lastly, a mystical experience that still haunts my heart at the Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga. How blessed I am to have been able to spend time at these places, and even revisit most of them. And as my Teachers have warned: Shiva comes to you when you least expect it. Your heart has to be ready. “How do we begin to describe that which is beyond words, without limits, and never truly fathomable?” This post is my small offering of honoring Shiva.
