I built one sec for myself, hoping that it could help me to spend less time on instagram and tiktok. The results surprised myself: my screen time was down by 42% just after two weeks. So I decided to publish it on the App Store. Nowadays it helps more than 1 million people save hours of time every day. Combined, it has saved more than 2000 years of human lifetime. Shortly after releasing it on the App Store I was contacted by scientists from Max Planck Institute here in berlin. They couldn't believe how my app was so effective and offered to study the psychology of my app though an experiment: hundreds of one sec users participated voluntarily. we found out that screen time drops by 57% on average – and life satisfaction increases significantly. the psychologic effects are: 1. breaks the auto-pilot: you are confronted with your (bad) habits while they occur and can actively decide not to follow that urge / subconscious action 2. removes instant gratification from social media → apps get less interesting over time to open without a reason My app has received more than 40,000 5-star ratings worldwide by now, averaging at 4.9 stars. It has been covered by the New York Times, Business Insider, Wallstreet Journal, TIME Magazine. Famous YouTubers such as Ali Abdaal or Kodi Co are using it. Give it a try, if you want to spend less time on here as well. – Frederik
