This factory box contains 24 unopened, 1987 Topps rack packs with 48 base cards and 1 All-Star subset card for a total of 49 cards per rack pack and 1,176 cards total in the box. There are 792 base cards in the set so it's possible, although unlikely, that you could compile an entire set from the cards contained in this box of 24 rack packs. Each rack pack has three sections of sealed cards which hold the cards securely for a "pack fresh" set of un-opened, vintage cards. I counted the packs to ensure all 24 are there and saw a couple packs with partial tears in the hanger part of the cellophane, but none with any tears in the cellophane holding any of the sections of cards. I took a picture of the slight tear in one of the pack's hanger for your reference. Aside from inspecting the packs for 24 count and confirming they're unopened, the packs are all in factory sealed condition just like they were in 1987! And the rookies! Oh, the rookies in 1987 Topps. The crop of youngsters in this set was mind-boggling: Bo Jackson "Future Stars" card, Mark McGwire, Will Clark, Barry Bonds and Barry Larkin, to name a few. And Hall of Famers like George Brett, Reggie Jackson, Mike Schmidt, Rickey Henderson, Dave Winfield, Kirby Puckett and Wade Boggs. According to the TCDB.com list, there are 63 cards featuring Hall of Famers and that doesn’t even count the superstars of the day who didn’t wind up in Cooperstown like Don Mattingly, Dale Murphy, Fernando Valenzuela, and Keith Hernandez.
