In some ways, I could never understand my father. It was hard to get him to be enthusiastic. He did the test, Understand Myself, and that's how I found out that he is really low in enthusiasm, but he is high in assertiveness, the two components of extraversion. This helped me better understand his temperament. It's useful to understand yourself, but it is also useful to have people in your life do the test.
