I’m still absolutely fuming about what the NHS had us believing. Today is the March 10th, and me and my boy Liam have lost just over 7 stone between us since November, after practically being told we were too far gone. 😡 We’re down in London. I’m over 65 now and Liam is 36, and honestly, last year we just quietly went to pieces. 💔 I was constantly bloated. My tummy felt rock hard, my ankles were terribly swollen, and my legs felt so heavy — like wading through wet sand. Living in London, you just learn to put on a brave face and get on with it, don't you? I’d show up, act completely normal, then come home and have a proper cry because I just didn’t recognise the woman in the mirror anymore. 😢 Liam’s struggle looked a bit different, but it hit just as hard. He got so quiet. Stopped wanting to do any of the things he used to enjoy. He had no energy, was always uncomfortable, and just had this drained look about him, like he was carrying the weight of the world. He’d say, “I’m fine, Mum,” and then cancel plans or hide from the camera. As his mum, the helplessness is on a level I just can’t describe. It breaks your heart. When we finally managed to get past the receptionist and see a GP, it was always the exact same message: eat less, move more. I told them, “I’m trying! I barely eat a thing as it is.” But it just got brushed off as 'my age' and the menopause. 🙄 For Liam, it was the same old story with a different label: stress, lifestyle, “you’re still young mate, just get on top of it.” And that’s the cruelest part of it all — when you’re over 65 they tell you it’s your age, and when you’re 36 they tell you it’s your own fault! 😠 We tried the lt. Weight Watchers, Slimming World. Cutting out carbs. Low-fat everything. Tiny portions. All those miserable “healthy” meals that just leave you absolutely starving an hour later. And nothing shifted. Not a pound. But everything changed when I stumbled across an articΙe on here that had the UK nutritionists in an absolute flap! It was all about this research from a clever student at Oxford Uni who’s found a natural way to restart fat loss for those of us over 50 — something the usual GP advice completely misses. 🤯 It explained how inflammation basically blocks your metabolism after 55 — and how stress and inflammation can trap the younger ones like Liam, too. It also explained exactly why this isn’t on the news, and how the big pharmaceutical companies are rubbing their hands together as long as people don't find out about it! I was incredibly sceptical at first. You know what it's like. But I was so frightened for my boy — and terrified for myself, too. So we just went for it. Together. And since November? I’m down about 3 stone, and Liam has dropped 4 stone! That’s just over 7 stone between us!!! 🎉👏 I’ll pop the link to the articΙe in the comments below for anyone who wants a read. 👇 This isn’t an advert, I promise. It’s just a warning — and hopefully a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel for someone else who needs it. Lots of love. xx ❤️
