What the AI shopping checker looks at
- Crawler access. Each assistant follows the robots.txt rules for its own crawler. A blocked crawler cannot show your product.
- Listing. A noindex robots meta tag or X-Robots-Tag header tells search engines to leave the page out of their results.
- Product data. schema.org Product markup with an offer: a price above zero, the currency and the stock status (Google Search Central (opens in a new tab)). The check reads the HTML as served, because not every crawler runs JavaScript.
- Price match. The price in the product data should be one a shopper sees on the page. Google can stop showing products whose data and page disagree.
Which crawler feeds which AI assistant
Each assistant reads your site with its own crawler, and robots.txt rules name crawlers, not assistants. These are the tokens to allow (OpenAI (opens in a new tab), Google (opens in a new tab), Perplexity (opens in a new tab)):

How do I get my products into ChatGPT shopping?

Why does the checker say it could not read my page?
Your site turned the check away or did not answer. Bot protection or a firewall often does this. Make sure it lets OAI-SearchBot, Googlebot, Storebot-Google, Bingbot and PerplexityBot through; each company publishes how to verify its real crawler. The checker itself may still be turned away, because it is not one of those crawlers.
