A highly requested post! ❤️ Do you notice your OCD symptoms worsen during the premenstrual period? I do 🙋‍♀️ It’s actually become that obvious, that my husband recognises it too. 🫠🫣 Studies have shown that OCD symptoms can increase, especially during premenstrual periods, pregnancy and postpartum. Hormone imbalances can be a contributing factor to increase of intrusive thoughts etc. and it’s important to be aware of this if you are a woman and have OCD 💚 For me it’s a whole range of symptoms like feeling irritable, spikes in anxiety, worrying, catastrophising, worst case scenarios, abundant intrusive thoughts etc… 🙄😵‍💫 Just know that it’s temporary and that symptoms won’t last forever. Fluctuations in estrogen levels are to be expected, awareness of this is super important 🧘🏼‍♀️ Have you noticed OCD symptoms worsen during your menstrual cycle? 🩸 Does OCD get louder for you too? Let me know in the comments below 👇 Thanks hormones! 🫠🙃 #ocd#ocdrecovery #ocdawareness #pureocd #pureocdrecovery #pureocdawareness #rocd #soocd #harmocd #menstrualcycle #period #postpartumocd #therapy #rumination #compulsion #acceptance #ocdsupport #ocdhelp #ocdadvocate #ocdproblems #ocdlife #menstruation #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #anxiety #intrusivethoughts #ocdisnotanadjective #ocdisnotajoke #youarenotalone
