“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and invite me in, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends." — Revelation 3:20 (paraphrased) Have you ever noticed something special about this verse? Jesus doesn't come empty-handed. In this picture, the man has been tied to that chair for a long time. The cobwebs tell the story. He can't free himself. He can't clean the room. He can't prepare a meal. He may not have eaten for days. He can't even walk to the door. And Jesus knows it. He doesn't stand outside expecting the man to have dinner waiting. He brings the meal. That is exactly what Jesus has always done. When people were hungry, He fed them. When they were thirsty, He offered living water. When they were sick, He brought healing. When they were weary, He offered rest. When they were burdened with guilt, He offered forgiveness. When they were afraid, He spoke peace. When they were dead in sin, He offered life. Jesus never asks us to provide what only He can give. Sometimes we hesitate to invite Him in because we think we have nothing to offer. "My life is a mess." "My heart isn't clean." "I've been trapped too long." "I've wandered too far." But that's exactly why He came. He already knows what is inside the room. Nothing surprises Him. Nothing shocks Him. Nothing makes Him turn away. He comes because He loves us—not because our lives are already in order. And notice something remarkable in this picture. The door is already open. Jesus could simply step inside. After all, He created the man. He created the house. He created the very door standing between them. Yet He remains outside. He waits. Not because He lacks authority... ...but because He honors the freedom He gave us. Love never forces its way into someone's life. It waits to be welcomed. Jesus isn't standing outside because He is weak. He is standing outside because He is love. He doesn't want people who obey because they have no choice. He wants friends who freely choose to trust Him because they have discovered who He really is. He doesn't ask us to untie ourselves. He doesn't ask us to clean the room. He doesn't ask us to prepare a meal. He simply says, "Would you invite Me in?" The moment we do, the One who calls Himself the Bread of Life enters carrying everything we need. Maybe today you feel like the man in this picture. Bound. Exhausted. Alone. Unable to fix your own life. Then hear what Jesus is really saying. "Would you let Me come in? I brought everything you need." He brings forgiveness. He brings peace. He brings hope. He brings rest. He brings life. He brings Himself. And perhaps that is the most beautiful part of Revelation 3:20. The One who knocks isn't asking for a meal. He's inviting you to one. To know Him is to love Him. And to love Him... is to live differently. #ChristianLiving247 #TheVisualGospel #Revelation320 #JesusKnocks
