Is Jesus Really God, or Just a god? What does the New World Translation (NWT) say? The stakes are too high to ignore this. If you’ve been taught that Jesus is not God but merely a created being or a lesser 'god,' then it’s absolutely essential to take a closer look—carefully and prayerfully. Eternal life depends on knowing the real Jesus—not a man-made version of Him. But instead of quoting from outside sources or traditional churches, let’s start with something simple, something you trust: your own Bible. Even in translations that try to reduce Jesus’ divine status, there are verses that could not be erased or changed without destroying the message altogether. So let’s go straight to those passages. Letting Your Own Translation Speak for Itself John 1:1–3 (NWT) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. This one was in the beginning with God. All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence.” Even if we momentarily accept the phrase “a god,” we have to ask: How can “the Word” (Jesus) be a created being if everything that was created has been created by Him? This alone proves that the Word (Jesus) was not a created being. He existed in the beginning and was involved in creating all things. The only One who fits that description… is God. Isaiah 43:10–11 (NWT) “‘Before me no God was formed, and after me there has been none. I—I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.’” Jehovah says: No gods before Me None after Me I alone am Savior Now read this: Titus 2:13 (NWT) “...the glorious manifestation of the great God and of our Savior, Jesus Christ.” Even here, Jesus is called our Savior. But God already said He is the only Savior. So who must Jesus be? Hebrews 1:6–8 (NWT) “Let all of God’s angels do obeisance to him... But about the Son, he says: ‘God is your throne forever and ever...’” God commands angels to worship the Son. God calls the Son “God. ”That’s not poetry. That’s truth. Philippians 2:9–11 (NWT) “God exalted him... so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend... and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.” Compare that with Isaiah 45:23 (NWT): “To me every knee will bend, every tongue will swear loyalty.” Only Jehovah receives that kind of worship. But now, Jesus does. That only works if Jesus is Jehovah. What Does All This Mean? Even without quoting from any other Bible translation, you can clearly see: Jesus existed before creation Jesus created all things, and He couldn’t have created Himself Jesus is called Savior—but God says He alone is Savior Jesus is worshiped—but worship belongs to God alone Every knee bows to Jesus—and Isaiah says every knee bows to Jehovah This only makes sense if Jesus is divine—if Jesus is God in human flesh. What About the Accuracy of the Texts? That’s where the Dead Sea Scrolls come in. These ancient manuscripts—over 2,000 years old—contain nearly the entire Old Testament. And they match the Hebrew Scriptures behind faithful translations like the KJV, with astonishing accuracy. The Dead Sea Scrolls are like a time capsule from God—proving that His Word has not been lost or changed. And they confirm the trustworthiness of the translations that boldly declare Jesus is God. The Final Piece Read John 1:1 again from a faithful translation: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” It matches everything else. Jesus is not a lesser god. He is God with us (Matthew 1:23), the Word made flesh (John 1:14), and the only One who can save. A Loving Appeal Go back and read these verses in your own Bible—then pray: “Lord, show me the truth about Jesus. Help me follow the real Jesus.” Because the real Jesus is not only the Son of God—He is God the Son. And knowing Him isn’t just about being right—it’s about being saved. #ChristianLiving247 #NWT #NewWorldTranslation #JesusIsGod #BibleTruth #KnowTheRealJesus #DeadSeaScrolls #SalvationOnlyInChrist P.S.
