Changing Hearts of Stone: How the Process Works 1. The Heart Transplant Ezekiel 36:26 describes the miracle at the center of salvation: God removes a heart of stone—stubborn, resistant, and spiritually numb—and replaces it with a heart of flesh—tender, responsive, and willing to obey. This is not self-improvement. It is divine surgery. 2. The Role of the Holy Spirit Jesus calls this transformation being “born again” (John 3:3). When you place your faith in Him, the Holy Spirit takes up residence within you. He softens your desires, redirects your motives, and empowers you to want what God wants—not out of pressure, but out of a new internal desire for righteousness. 3. Active Faith and Repentance This heart change is a cooperative work: God provides grace through the sacrifice of His only Son, Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of sin, and we respond. Faith trusts Jesus as Savior; repentance turns away from sin and toward God. Together, they create the environment where the Spirit reshapes the inner life and the believer is truly transformed 4. A Lifelong Journey Heart transformation is a process. It unfolds over a lifetime. As you walk with the Spirit, He continually exposes old patterns, heals wounded places, and aligns your motives with the heart of Christ. Clarity and discernment increases. Sensitivity and empathy deepens. Obedience through surrender becomes a natural reality. 5. The Destination We walk out our destination daily through the testimony of our faith as we bring Glory and Honor to God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ through the sharing of our faith, shining our light into the darkness of this world testifying to the truth of God's great plan of salvation so that all who see and hear and believe will be saved through God's Amazing Grace If your heart feels hard and your life feels empty, there is a reason why you are reading this at this moment in time; it's God knocking at the door of your heart saying invite me in child, and I will give you a new heart and a new life that only I can give you. Jesus explicitly states His mission to set captives free in Luke 4:18, where He reads a prophecy from the Book of Isaiah: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised."
