We’re honored to support the sewing program in schools across the Athabasca region, helping students learn traditional skills while creating practical, meaningful items like Dene canvas sled wrappers, ribbon skirts, and traditional mitts. In Fond-du-lac Denesuline First Nation, students work alongside dedicated instructors, Rita and Albert Adam, in a culture-rich learning space that fosters both creativity and heritage. We’re excited to see this program continue to grow, with new online resources in development to support neighboring communities as they set up their own sewing labs. Together, we’re building more possibilities for youth in remote areas, and we’re grateful for the contributions from our partners and supporters who make this possible.
