Operation WetFish is a vampire detective series I began publishing in 2014. It’s a 50-book series and 40 are currently available in paperback and ebook. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HNFP6QS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HNFP6QS In the 1960s, a young DCI named Edward Sanders approached his superiors with a proposition: to head a department with the sole purpose of correcting the mistakes of the courts. With his department approved, DCI Sanders based himself beneath the streets of London in a vast underground World War Two bunker. From then on, each time a court made a not-guilty verdict, a report reached the desk of DCI Sanders, who would review it and determine whether the decision was accurate. Police incompetence, witness intimidation, expensive lawyers – there were many reasons the guilty could walk free from the courts. All those whose verdicts were a corruption of justice became work for his department. Dubbed Operation WetFish, the department’s official remit was as a care-in-the-community project, with only certain people at the very top knowing the truth. In reality, it was the job of WetFish either to frame the criminal, this time with enough evidence to get them sent down, or else fatally remove them, planting blame on rival gangs or suicide. In 1983, twenty-year-old Charles Baronaire joined the ranks of WetFish. A man with incredible strength, stamina and constitution, Baronaire also had powers of hypnosis, control over certain animals and the ability to turn himself into a white mist. Yet Baronaire’s abilities came with a price, for he had an insatiable appetite for human blood. Now, in the 1990s, WetFish struggles to cope in a society where modernity brings visibility, along with an increasing chance the department’s true nature could become exposed to the world. The first 34 ebooks are 99p (99c) because most of them are only around 20,000 words. Then came the pandemic and I didn’t write any for years. When I went back to the series, my style had changed and I didn’t want them being so short any more, so from book 35 onwards they’re much longer (books 39 and 40 are both over 100,000 words). Which means from book 35 onwards, they’re £2.99 ($2.99). Just in case you decide to read them and think the price hike is a fiendish marketing ploy – it’s not; you get a lot more for your money. There are also 2 omnibuses, making it cheaper to read the first 8 books in the series. Thanks for reading this far. It was a long post, sorry.

For Operation WetFish, a legal and entirely unorthodox department of the London police, the courts never have the final say. Frame-ups, alerting rival gangs or simply making the bad...
