Har Har Mahadev 🔱 Mahashivratri ki hardik shubhkamnayein to everyone. On this sacred occasion, I want to share a real incident from my life where I truly felt Mahadev’s invisible support. As preserved in our family history and shared by my parents, our origins trace back centuries to Kashi, the sacred land of Bhagwan Mahadev. Over time, our ancestors moved toward North Goa and, during the Portuguese regime, later settled in Karwar in present-day North Karnataka. Across generations, Mahadev has remained our Kuldevta. From my grandfather’s time onward, our family has lived in Mumbai. I was born and raised here and am very much a Mumbaikar. In 2009, I was running a real estate and FMCG trading company in Mumbai, employing a few hundred people, having built financial strength and professional credibility. A young MBA handling compliance introduced a Chartered Accountant as our full-time CA. Both belonged to the Jain Marwari community — mentioned purely as a factual detail. It later emerged that the CA had developed a cricket betting habit, suffered heavy losses, and absconded with important company documents, including TDS certificates worth several lakhs, creating serious compliance risk. When contact attempts failed, we traced the residential address submitted to the company. I went there with team members but remained seated in my car, asking my driver to accompany them to speak to him near the society gate. During the exchange, tempers rose. He ran inside, entered the society secretary’s residence, and locked himself inside the bedroom. The secretary had political affiliations at that time. The next day, I began receiving calls from individuals connected to that network. The matter was framed as intimidation, which was not the case. There appeared to be efforts to escalate the issue by approaching influential business circles within the Jain Marwari community in Mumbai. It is a financially strong community, and if collective backing had formed, pressure could have been created. However, no organized support formed and the issue gradually diffused. Looking back, this remains one of the moments where Mahadev stood as invisible support.
