I tend to spend more time at those three countries for birding. Papua New Guinea Madagascar Indonesia The reasons I choose those birding destinations are, there are higher percentage of endemic birds from all of three countries, which are very important to the local ecosystems, also most endemic birds are not good at long distance flight, particularly those three countries formed by islands, which distance themselves from continents, they are more likely facing extinction if losing habitats. Unfortunately all these three countries are poor, governments don’t have money and resources to engage in wildlife conservation, so ecotourism becomes so important to encourage locals to protect wildlife around their own lands.
