Job Title: Marine HVAC Manager Location: Melita Shipyards – Malta & France Business Unit: Melita Marine Group Employment Type: Full-Time ________________________________________ Purpose Establish, lead and continuously improve the Marine HVAC Department, delivering world class heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning solutions for marine refit and repair projects. Key Responsibilities • Strategic Leadership, craft departmental business plan, Capex/Opex budgets and growth roadmap. • Project Delivery plan, cost and supervise installation, service and commissioning of HVAC systems or marine vessel, ensuring class and flag compliance. • Client Interface, attend kick off meetings, perform site visits, issue quotations and variation orders, maintain “open book” communication aligned with the Group’s customer philosophy. • Recruit, coach and performance manage a multidisciplinary team; create skills matrix and succession pipeline. • Own departmental ISO 9001 documentation, RAMS, LOTO, F gas logs and toolbox talks; drive zero incident culture. • Negotiate frame agreements for chillers, AHUs, ducting, controls and spares; monitor supplier OTIF. • Deliver weekly progress reports, KPI dashboards and budget forecasts to Group Directors and Head of Department and COO. Required Profile • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering/HVAC Technology; holder of a valid HVAC or F Gas licence. • 8+ years hands on HVAC experience, including 3+ years team leadership; marine or heavy industrial projects desirable. • Strong proficiency in HVAC load calculations, psychrometrics, chilled water plants and PLC/BMS controls. • Fluent English; Maltese will be considered language an asset. • Able to work extended hours or travel at short notice during peak refit windows.
